June 2003

Hey there Mosquitoes,

What is going on out there in the biking world? Time is flying along very quickly and RAGBRAI is approaching and will be here before you know it. Don’t forget about the Mosquito ride coming up in a couple of weeks. That always gives us a little taste of our weeklong trip coming in the end of July. I hope you all got to

The first order of business is the shirts. Many of you have seen the different ideas that we have had and we are going to go with the "West Nile" theme because it is so hot in the news this year. I think you have all heard about the shorts that we ordered. These are way cool and if you didn’t get a pair, you are going to be missing out. As usual, our shirts will be one of the best again, just because we are Team Mosquito. We need to get these ordered asap, so you will see that an order form is attached as well. There are going to be a little brighter in the form of yellow and orange and I believe we will print black on them. You all have one week to get your order to me. We don’t have time to mess around with this, so don’t blow it off!

We also need to start collecting the dues for the trip. In order to make my life easier and to keep the info more organized; we are just going to ask for one set of dues. This is going to be the same as last year, $120 for the whole week or $20 per day if you are only going for a limited number of days. Don’t forget to enclose the shirt and short money with the dues. We have paid for the shorts already, so the sooner you get your dues to me, the sooner we can get the bus ready. We are working on getting the paint redone. We also need to get the box on top repaired. We did have to get a tire fixed the other week. It was on the front and I tried to get the tire off with the tools on the bus and couldn’t get one of the lug nuts even loose. Maybe we don’t need to carry the jack around with us, which would make more room for beer??

As I said, we have the Mosquito ride coming up on June 21st. I have word that we should be able to ride the trail if we are a little brave. The bridges are all in cement now and there is only about 1.5 miles that isn’t graveled. If it continues to rain, it may have some spots underwater, but we will see what happens the next couple of weeks. My dad will keep me up to date on the status of the trail.

Thanks and don’t forget to send your money to me and if you can e-mail you shirt orders that would be great. I will send you an e-mail verification within a couple of days if I get your order that way. If you don’t hear from me, keep on my case. Have a great day and see you on the road (or in the bar).
