May 1998

Hey Mosquitoes,

What are all of you up to now? I bet you are waiting to hear from me about a few things. Well here it is, the news that will ease your day and take your worries away like Calgon. Hope you all have been biking and getting in shape for this summers festivities. I will continue to try to keep you informed on all of the upcoming fun as best as possible.

This years slogon will be "Bite Me". We don’t have a picture yet but Rich is working on this as we speak, and will be delivered to you asap.

Ok, all of you who are receiving this letter have paid your dues for this year. Thank you and I hope you are all ready for a fun summer. I want to first start off by letting you know that I need to know what kind of sponsors we will have this year. There are many plans for the bus and that means we need some cash flow. If you have sponsor information, and it is a definite, get the money and the logo to me quickly. I have had several people tell me that they have some leads, but only a couple definites, so get to work. we officially have Team Red Eye, Dental Touch Associates and Norwest as sponsors. We can get many more if we just try.

That leads me to the second subject. RAGBRAI dues need to start coming in. Get out that check book and write that check if you are going this year. I would like the first installment of $50 per person ASAP, or if you want you can send $100 total, which will probably be the total again this year. What ever trips your trigger! This will of course depend on how many people are going and how many sponsors we get, so it could go up.

The Mosquito ride is going to be held on June 6th and will be in a camp ground in northern Iowa. The owners are Hawkeye tailgate friends, whom will also be our bus drivers for this years RAGBRAI. It would be great for many of you to meet them if you haven’t already. They just bought a campground and the map is enclosed. Most of us will be tenting for the evening or evenings at the campground. The route has not been determined, but the ride is on Saturday, and many of us will probably go up on Friday night and spend two nights there. I guess it doesn’t matter where we ride as long as we can yell "Carpe Beer"

On another note, Rich and Dana are having a party on the 16th of May, yeah that is in about a week or less. I think that we are going to have a big bus party that Friday and Saturday out at their farm to get the bus squared away and ready for the year. Please let me know if you will be attending. We need help!!!!!! We would like to buy a new stereo for it, since we don’t have one anymore. Ask Majerle if you haven’t heard that story. We need to get carpet in the front, because I don’t think that we could get anyone to eat off of it anymore, and we have to fix the dance floor again. Bus maintenance is much greater than I had anticipated.

I think that is all for now, so have a good one and remember that Ma and Pa Mosquito are both over 30 years old!
