Hey Mosquitoes,
I didn’t forget about you out there, I just have been a slacker and it doesn’t look like there is any end to it in the near future. I hope that you all are enjoying the spring and are getting some good rides under your belt so that you will be in great shape to ride all of those hill down south.
The first order of business is the Mosquito ride, aka Tour de Tama. Don’t forget that this is going to occur on June 21st. It will start in Dysart similar to previous years and will be tons of fun. One of these years we will be able to take the bike trail the whole route from Dysart to Vinton and back. Rich and I were out there a couple of weeks ago turning two more bridges from wood into concrete. The bridges are now all done and there are now just a few areas that need gravel and it will be ready to roll. This trail should be maneuverable if you have a mountain bike, but in the condition we are usually in, you might end up with your bike getting thrown into the creek. Anyway, I would like to say thanks to all of you who have helped with this trail financially. You are great.
As RAGBRAI approaches fast, it is about time to try to get a head count so we can start getting the bus plans started. I would like you all to let me know who is going to be riding the bus this year. Please e-mail me and let me know. If you haven’t sent your $15 dues, I would like them ASAP please.
Are there any more ideas for the shirts this year? I have one from Majerle and that is about it. Do you guys really want to have something that is his idea? We will have to hear about this for years. Any thoughts on shirts? I was thinking about something brighter like a yellow\orange tie-dye. Let me know what you think. I also would like to know if anyone would be interested in a Mosquito biking jersey or shorts. Majerle is looking into something here, so let me know if you think this would be something you might be interested in purchasing.
A couple of other tidbits of info I would like to pass along include a big CONGRATULATIONS to Jay Beaver on his upcoming wedding to Sarah this June 14th. Oddly enough we need to congratulate Jay’s sister, Peg on her engagement to Jeff(I think he goes by Cletus also). She is so lucky and we all wanted him after seeing the hair and teeth last year on RAGBRAI. The last thing I will mention is for you to all think about Jana who recently had her appendix removed. I bet she will recover nicely in plenty of time to join us for RAGBRAI.

Oh yeah, does anyone know how to get a hold of Larry Eustachey? I hear he isn’t doing anything this summer and might like to join us. I bet he would bring some nice looking chicks also. We would have to break him of that Natural Light habit however!
