Greetings Mosquitoes,
I know that it has been a while, but give me a break here. They say that the first thing to go is the memory, but that has nothing to do with these notes getting out way too late. Like all of you, I get busy and keep putting this off, and now we are way behind on several things and need to pick up the pace in order to get everything ready for RAGBRAI this year.
First of all, if you haven’t paid me your membership fee, you had better get it to me or else you may get taken off the all important list of Mosquitoes. Ask yourself, do you want to be somebody? We also need some ideas of what to put on the shirts this year. I believe that the red, white and blue tie-dyes are going to be a big hit, but they would be even cooler if there were some sort of motto on the back and some sponsors on the front. If you really want to be someone you could be a sponsor for us. Please send me your ideas for the shirts and become a piece of Mosquito nostalgia, and ask around for sponsors. The final shirt orders need to be in by the middle of May, so that isn’t too far off. You will get the order forms next time, so don’t worry about it just yet.
I hope you all remembered to set your clocks back for daylight saving, except for those in Arizona, and you all know that we now have an extra hour to go biking in the evenings. Maybe the weather will warm up around here, so we can get out and about and start training. We have many rides coming up very soon. You can find a ride just about every weekend from here on out. To name a few, the Bud ride is coming up on May 11th in North Liberty which is always a great time. The Tour de Tama is also known as the Mosquito ride will be June 15th this year. We will be starting in Dysart again this year and going through Garrison onto Vinton and then back. I don’t believe that my little brother will be there to give us the designated camping spots in the yard, so I will have some extra work to do this year. Last year we had a great turnout, so lets all do it again. Mark your calendars right now and be ready for some fun. June 22nd is the River Ratt ride in Muscatine. I can’t name them all, but check on www.cibroc.com to get a full schedule of the rides in Iowa. If you aren’t from Iowa, then you should move here.
I also think it is time to update our Larva page. Please get some new pictures of the little ones to Klink so he can post them. This is the future generation of Mosquitoes and they will keep us going when we are cruising around with our walkers.
I think that is all for now, remember we need ideas for mottos, we need you dues, and we need to see all of you on June 15th. Take care and see you soon!
