Mosquitoes,
How are you all doing? Starting to get the itch to get on the bike and start pedaling away? It was about that time when, in Iowa, we got a foot of snow. It will get better soon, so get prepared. The last time that we talked, we were just about ready to go on the BRR ride. We had a beautiful day in Perry and there were a reported 2500 people riding bikes in Iowa during the first week of February! That is cool. There were about 20 Mosquitoes there, so it was a pretty good turnout. We also had the privilege of seeing the "fire truck". This is a new addition to Team Quadrabong. We no longer have to worry about fires while we are biking. The RAGBRAI route is also out and it should be a little flatter and easier than last year. I have enclosed a copy of this for all of you. We are looking for places to stay in the overnight towns, so if you know of anyone who would like to accommodate us, keep me informed. We have a place in Cherokee already, and it sounds really cool.
In other exciting news, our team now has its own web site on the Internet. Klink is the webmaster and did a great job. He likes suggestions and we all want this to be the best site around, so feel free to supply ideas if you have some. The address is www.TeamMosquito.com. Please visit this and enjoy!
We also have another ride coming up. On Saturday April 4th, there is a ride starting at our old sponsor, Penn Way Park, in North Liberty. This place now has a new name, it is called Gioimos. This ride is about 30 miles and goes from N. Liberty to Tiffin, back to N. Liberty, to Solon and back to Gioimos. It should be a good time. It was originally planned for the next weekend, however that is Easter, so it was moved to the fourth.
If you have not paid your dues, get your butt in gear and pay us. This is the last newsletter you will receive unless you have paid your dues. I also want to remind everyone to work on sponsors, because we have heard very little about this and need to get rolling. We dont want our dues to get too expensive. Many of you have asked me about new members. As we did last year, the only problem that we may run across is having enough room getting to the starting town. We cannot guarantee that we can provide a ride to the starting point for any new members, and that cant be determined until we get much closer to the big week, so be patient. Once at the starting point, we probably wont have any problem accommodating them.
Finally, if you need to contact me, I can be reached via e-mail at mctooth@teammosquito.com. This means that you can have your notes sent this way if you prefer. All I really need is your address! Have a good one and see you soon.
