Hello Mosquitoes,
How about that RAGBRAI route? They say it is the second hilliest route in the 29-year history of the ride. You had all better get those legs in shape for an up and down year. I don't really mind the hills for some reason, maybe it is the beer talking, but if you are kind of new to the thing, keep this in mind. It is pretty long also with one day at 96 miles. I guess there is no need to worry about taking the century loop this year we won't have a choice unless you are Team Sag (Red) Eye, and then you can sag all day. We, of course know that Mosquitoes don't do that on a regular basis. If you want see the route, visit www.ragbrai.org. You can find all sorts of good information there. At this moment, almost all of our notes go out via e-mail. I don't have to ruin many trees, which is very nice.
Has anyone found a driver for us this year? I bet you all haven't been looking as hard as you can. Remember that we do pay them for it. We haven't heard anything on the bus repairs yet, but it is starting to warm up a little, so hopefully they can get to it in the next month. We have to have her in tip top shape for the long drive to Sioux City. The last trip to Sioux City was great. I don't remember any details, but it was RAGBRAI, so I know it was awesome! The trip is going to be long, so you can plan on the bus leaving early in the morning the Saturday before. More details will come later on that though. I don't want to jump the gun.
With the warm weather comes all of the spring rides. Since I am e-mailing this out, there is a web site you all might be interested in viewing. It has dates of many of the rides. Check our www.cibroc.com. I know that the Mosquito ride is of vital important to most of you, so we are going to have that on June 2nd. We are still deciding on a location. We have had some great times in Waucoma, but someone else mentioned that we go back to Dysart. This might be a little more centrally located for others to join us. I would love your input on this. Let me know what you think. If the Bud ride in North Liberty is the same weekend as last year it will happen on Saturday May 12th, but don't quote me on that.
Please send me your $15 dues for this year. I will not be sending you any more notes and will assume that you don't want to get them if I don't get some kind of response from you all out there. Thanks and don't forget that we are the coolest team on RAGBRAI.
As I said in the first set of notes, we need to raise some money this year to help offset the costs of the repairs/upgrades to the bus. The best way to do that is to get several sponsors to help us out. Don't forget that a couple hundred dollars is not very much for a lot of companies. Most have money set aside just waiting for a team like us to ask them.
We also have another larva. Jason and Andra Chamberlin had a little girl this time. Her name is Alexandra Rae and she was born on Jan 29th. Congratulations to you guys. That is wonderful. Most of you also know that we had our little girl on March 17th. Her name is Alexa Delaney. I told Christine for several months that she couldn't give birth during the National Wrestling Tournament, but she didn't listen. Everything is going great.
Finally, the last thing we need to address this year is our new motto. It is our 11th year and I don't have any ideas as of yet. You all did a great job of giving me ideas last year so keep it up. I, of course, am the ultimate decision maker and can be bribed if you try. Have a wonderful day and we will talk soon. You can reach me at mctooth2@home.com 319-373-0514, 2970 Winston Circle, Marion IA 52302. One other thing, the Hawks rock, Big Ten B-ball Tourney Champs!!!!, and Steve Alford is staying here forever!
